The Adore Gown is cut from a jacquard woven exclusively for Baruni, as a sleeveless shirt gown with a tailored jacket collar and jacket flaps set at the hip. It runs fitted through the body to about the knee, and from there the skirt breaks into stacked gathered tiers that fall to the floor. Lined in soft rayon.
It is a gown for the evenings that are photographed. A gala, a wedding, a reception, an occasion with a staircase in it. It comes in Cornflower Blue and Rose, and sits with the Entrance Gown in Evening Elegance.
The model is 175 cm and wears a size S. At that size the gown measures 92 cm at the bust, 74 at the waist, 102 at the hips and 145 cm from the shoulder to the hem.
What are the collar and the flaps for?
They are the argument of the gown. The collar is tailored and the flaps sit at the hip exactly where a jacket's would, so the top half is borrowed from menswear while everything below the knee is as feminine as a garment gets. The gown is that contrast, held in one piece. It is also why it reads as a gown rather than as a long dress.
Are the jacket flaps pockets?
No, they are tailoring. They are there for the line and for the shape they give the hip, in the same way the collar is there for the shoulder. Nothing opens behind them.
How does the tiered skirt move?
In layers, and slightly behind you. Each tier is gathered separately, so they do not move as one piece. When you walk, the lower tiers carry on for a moment after you have stopped. It is the thing a photograph can only hint at.
It is fitted through the body. How much room is there to walk?
The fitted section runs to around the knee and the tiers open out from there, so your stride lives in the gathers. It is a considered walk rather than a long one, which suits the occasions this gown is for. If you want to move faster than that, the Entrance Gown is cut with more room below the knee.
What shoe works under a tiered hem?
A heel, and a plain one. The hem sits on the floor, so the shoe is barely seen and does not need to be interesting. What a heel does here is lift the lowest tier just clear of the ground so it moves freely instead of dragging. Four to seven centimetres is enough.
Will the tiers crush if I travel with it?
Less than you would expect. Jacquard is woven with body, so the gathers hold their own shape rather than relying on pressing. Hang it as soon as you arrive and give it a few hours, and the tiers settle back on their own. Do not fold it flat into a case if you can avoid it.
Where does the Adore Gown suit?
The most formal evenings you have. A gala, a black tie wedding, a reception, an award dinner. It is the loudest shape Baruni makes and it is meant to be the only thing anyone comments on, so keep the jewellery to one piece and let the tiers do it.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. From the moment you order, this typically takes 1 to 2 days in the UAE, 2 to 4 days to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, and 3 to 5 days everywhere else. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
