The Vida Dress is a full length shirt dress in a jacquard woven exclusively for Baruni, with the pattern built into the cloth rather than printed on the surface.
It buttons through the front from the collar, the waist is marked, and the skirt falls full to the floor. The sleeves are short, finishing around the elbow, and the lining is breathable for extra comfort, which keeps a long dress feeling light in warm weather.
Wear it to a wedding, a formal lunch, a daytime reception or an evening celebration.
Fit note: a shirt dress is forgiving through the body and the front opening means you step into it rather than pulling it over your hair. If you are between sizes, we recommend the larger.
The model is 175cm and wears a size S. That size measures 95cm bust, 75cm waist and 145cm from shoulder to hem, which is 37 1/2, 29 1/2 and 57 inches.
How far down the arm does the sleeve come?
Thirty two centimetres from the shoulder in a size S, so it finishes at the elbow. The upper arm is covered and the forearm is bare.
Is a full length dress too warm for a daytime event in summer?
Not in a jacquard with a short sleeve. The length keeps the sun off and the fabric holds its own shape away from the leg, which is cooler than a narrow dress that sits against you.
Why do you make so many shirt dresses?
Because they do more than one job. The front opening means you can dress without disturbing your hair, the belt lets one dress fit you across several years, and the same piece reads as formal or relaxed depending on how you tie it.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Please note that duty charges now apply to shipments to the US, collected by the courier on delivery.
High courier fees mean we charge specific shipping rates for Libya, Israel, Iraq and certain other countries. If you are unsure whether yours is one of them, write to us before you order and we will confirm the rate.
Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
