Designer Dresses in Dubai and the UAE

Baruni is designed and made in Dubai. Not designed here and manufactured elsewhere, and not imported and relabelled. The fabrics are sourced by Fadwa Baruni herself and the garments are cut and sewn in the brand's own atelier by a team she has trained, several of whom have been with her for more than a decade.

Delivery in the UAE

Delivery within the UAE is free, on every order, with no minimum. Orders are dispatched within twenty four hours and arrive in one to two days. You are sent a tracking number the moment your parcel leaves us.

You have fifteen days from receiving a piece to return it. Full details are on our shipping and returns page.

What we make

Baruni is occasionwear, and almost all of it is sleeved or covered. That is the whole point of the house rather than a concession. Most pieces are priced between $400 and $800. Tops and skirts start lower, and outlet pieces are reduced by at least forty percent.

The collections are wedding guest dresses, evening gowns for galas and black tie, mother of the bride outfits, and festive pieces for Ramadan and Eid. Alongside them sit kaftans and resort wear for the warmer months.

Our signature is the shirt gown. It has the structure of a shirt and the presence of a gown, and its buttons let you decide your own coverage. Because it goes on last, it does not disturb hair or makeup already done.

Made for the climate you actually live in

Every Baruni garment is lined in something breathable. That matters more here than anywhere, because a dress worn from a six o'clock ceremony through to the early hours has to stay comfortable the whole way. We would rather you forget what you are wearing by the second hour of an evening than be reminded of it.

It is also why coverage is designed in rather than added on. A sleeve that is part of the cut hangs correctly and moves with you. A sleeve bolted onto a strapless dress does neither.

Sizing, and why we write to you before we ship

Dresses run XS to XL. Kaftans are free size and currently fit up to XXL. Every style carries its own measurement chart rather than one generic size guide, because the cut differs from piece to piece.

Before anything leaves the atelier we write to you to confirm the size you have chosen is the right one. Seeing Baruni in person

In the UAE, Baruni is carried by Tryano in Abu Dhabi. The brand is also stocked by Farfetch, by Harvey Nichols in Saudi Arabia and Doha, Galeries Lafayette Doha, Printemps Doha, Incanto Bahrain and Rubaiyat Saudi Arabia.

About Baruni

Baruni is a luxury occasionwear label founded in Dubai in 2009 by designer Fadwa Baruni, who spent eight years as a petroleum engineer before training in art and fashion design at Edinburgh College of Art. Every collection since has been designed by her.

Pieces are made in small runs and most are made once, deliberately, so that a dress stays rare. The house develops its own colours and custom weaves. More about the house and the atelier, and the press coverage.

Almost all of them. Baruni specialises in sleeved and covered occasionwear, including full length sleeves, and each product page states exactly what the sleeve covers.

Can I return something?

Yes, within fifteen days of receiving it, unworn and with its tags. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you. Outlet pieces are returned for store credit rather than refunded.

Can you help me choose a size?
