A straight cut cocktail dress in a jacquard woven exclusively for Baruni. The neckline sits high and closed, the arms are bare, and the line falls straight from shoulder to mid calf without a waist seam to break it. Lined throughout in soft rayon.
What is the jacquard, and why does it matter?
Jacquard is a pattern woven into the cloth rather than printed on top of it. The design is part of the fabric, so it keeps its depth after wear and does not flatten or fade the way a print can. This jacquard was made for Baruni and is not used by anyone else.
Where does it sit on the leg?
Mid calf. On a 172 cm model it falls below the knee with room to spare, so it reads as formal rather than short. The straight cut means the hem stays where it sits when you walk.
Will a straight cut suit me?
It is the most forgiving line in the collection. Nothing is fitted at the waist, so the dress skims from the shoulder down and the jacquard pattern carries the eye along the length rather than across the body.
Is it comfortable to wear for a long evening?
It is lined throughout in soft rayon, so nothing in the weave touches your skin. The lining also stops the dress clinging as you move.
The neckline is high but the arms are bare. Is that deliberate?
Yes. It is the combination that makes the dress work in a warm climate without feeling exposed. The chest and the back of the neck stay covered, and the shoulders stay cool.
Where can I wear it?
Cocktail receptions, dinners and daytime events where a floor length gown would be too much. The Nagia Dress is made from the same exclusive jacquard in a full length cut.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Please note that duty charges now apply to shipments to the US, collected by the courier on delivery.
High courier fees mean we charge specific shipping rates for Libya, Israel, Iraq and certain other countries. If you are unsure whether yours is one of them, write to us before you order and we will confirm the rate.
Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
