The Yara Kaftan is cut from georgette and falls from the shoulder in one unbroken line to the floor. There are no sleeves. The kaftan is cut like a cape, with openings in the fabric for the arms, so the whole piece moves as one when you walk. A shirt collar sits at the neck, set with diamond effect studs that continue down the front. A tie draws the waist in when you want a shape, and a short slit at the front makes it easy to step into. Lined in a rayon jersey.
It is a piece for the evenings that ask for presence rather than effort. A long dinner, a family gathering, the evenings of Eid and Ramadan, a celebration where you want to be covered and still be looked at. It sits alongside the Almas Kaftan and the rest of the Kaftans.
The models in Black and White are 172 cm, and the model in Sky Blue is 175 cm. The kaftan measures 155 cm from the shoulder to the hem and fits a bust from 90 to 120 cm and a waist from 70 to 100 cm.
How can one size fit from XS to XXL?
Two things do it. The georgette is cut full and flared rather than fitted, so it falls past the body instead of following it. And the lining is a rayon jersey, which gives and recovers rather than holding one fixed shape. Between them the kaftan takes a bust of 90 to 120 cm and a waist of 70 to 100 cm, which is XS through to XXL.
Where do my arms go, if there are no sleeves?
Through openings cut into the fabric itself. The kaftan is built like a cape, so the georgette hangs from the shoulder and falls the full length of the piece, and your arms sit inside it rather than inside a sleeve. With your arms down you are covered from the shoulder to the hem. Lift them and the fabric opens and falls back.
What is underneath the georgette?
A rayon jersey lining, soft and quiet against the skin. Georgette on its own is light enough to read through, so the lining is what makes the kaftan solid, and it is also the reason one size works across such a range.
How long is the front slit?
About 12 cm. It is short, and it is there to make the kaftan easy to step into and out of over your head rather than to show anything. On a 155 cm length it is a detail you will use and never notice.
Is it warm to wear?
Less than it looks. Georgette is one of the lightest woven fabrics there is, the cut is loose, and the arms are open rather than enclosed, so air moves through it. It is a covered piece built for warm evenings rather than in spite of them.
Where does the Yara Kaftan suit?
Evenings, mostly. A dinner, a family celebration, the long evenings of Eid and Ramadan, an occasion where you want to walk in covered and finished. Wear it with a flat sandal and let the length do the work, or with a heel if you want the hem to clear the floor.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. From the moment you order, this typically takes 1 to 2 days in the UAE, 2 to 4 days to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman, and 3 to 5 days everywhere else. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
