A cocktail dress in a floral jacquard woven in a rayon mix, so the flowers are part of the cloth rather than printed on it. They are scattered at the shoulder, where most of the white ground shows through, and gather closer together as they fall, until the hem is almost solid colour. The effect is a dress that reads pale at the top and deep at the bottom without a single seam to do it.
A standing collar closes the neck and the waistline is gathered, which draws the shape in and lets the skirt lift away from the body. Sleeves finish at the elbow. A tie at the waist sets how close the fit sits.
The skirt finishes above the knee, so this is the shortest piece in the collection and the easiest to wear more than once.
The dress is lined in soft rayon, so the jacquard never sits directly against the skin.
It is a dress for a cocktail reception, an evening party, a dinner or a daytime wedding where a floor length gown would be too formal.
The fit is true to size. If you are between sizes, we recommend the larger.
Both models are 172 cm and wear a size S.
The size S measures 94 cm at the bust (37 inches), 74 cm at the waist (29 1/4 inches), 110 cm at the hips (43 1/4 inches) and 100 cm from shoulder to hem (39 1/4 inches). The sleeve measures 34 cm (13 1/2 inches).
Where will the hem fall on me?
Shoulder to hem is 100 cm at size S, which sits above the knee on our model of 172 cm. If you are shorter it will fall closer to the knee, and if you are taller it will sit higher.
How much do the sleeves cover?
At size S the sleeve measures 34 cm from the shoulder seam, which brings it to the elbow. Your shoulder and upper arm are fully covered, which is unusual on a short dress.
Is a short dress acceptable at a wedding?
For an evening reception, a cocktail party or most daytime weddings, yes. Length is not what makes a dress formal, fabric is, and a woven jacquard reads as dressed up whatever the hem. For a black tie wedding choose a floor length piece from our Wedding Guest Dresses collection instead.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Please note that duty charges now apply to shipments to the US, collected by the courier on delivery.
High courier fees mean we charge specific shipping rates for Libya, Israel, Iraq and certain other countries. If you are unsure whether yours is one of them, write to us before you order and we will confirm the rate.
Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
