An open front abaya cut in a jacquard woven exclusively for Baruni, trimmed in gold beads and sequins along the neckline, down the centre front, around the armholes and at the sleeve hem. The trim follows every line of the piece, which is what gives it its presence in a room.
The sleeves are long and wide, so the arm is fully covered and nothing sits close against it. Wear it closed and it reads as a gown. Wear it open over a dress, over a trouser set, or over whatever you already own, and it becomes the piece that finishes the outfit.
It suits Eid, Ramadan evenings, weddings, engagement parties and any occasion where you want to arrive looking considered without being uncomfortable. It is the piece our customers buy once and wear for years, because the jacquard holds its structure and the trim does not date.

The models are 172 cm and wear a size S.
The size S measures 102 cm at the bust (40 1/4 inches), 106 cm at the waist (41 3/4 inches), 120 cm at the hips (47 1/4 inches) and 153 cm from shoulder to hem (60 1/4 inches). The sleeve measures 55 cm (21 3/4 inches).
How much do the sleeves cover?
Fully. At size S the sleeve measures 55 cm from the shoulder seam, which brings it to the wrist, and it is cut wide so nothing grips the arm. The beading sits at the sleeve hem, where it shows every time you move your hands.
Can it be worn closed as well as open?
Yes, and that is the reason to own it. Closed, it falls as a gown in its own right. Open, it layers over a dress or a trouser set and changes what you already have rather than replacing it. Most customers end up wearing it both ways.
What does jacquard woven exclusively for Baruni mean?
The cloth is woven to our own design and made for us alone, so the pattern exists on no other garment. It is woven in rather than printed on, which is why it holds its structure and why the piece still looks right years later. See more in our Festive Collection.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
