A floor length maxi in fluid crepe, with cape sleeves cut in soft georgette that fall from the shoulder and move with you. The neckline is a V, and a beaded floral brooch sits at each shoulder where the cape meets the dress. Fitted through the bodice, then released into a flare from the hip. Lined throughout in soft rayon.
Does the cape cover my arms?
It covers them from the outside, not all the way around. The cape hangs open from the shoulder and your arm is free underneath, so you get the look and the movement of a covered arm without anything enclosing it. It falls to around 148 cm from the shoulder, nearly the full length of the dress. If you want the arm fully enclosed, the Layan Dress is the same V neckline with a true long sleeve.
Why two different fabrics?
Crepe has weight and holds the line of the dress. Georgette has almost none, so the cape lifts and floats rather than hanging flat against the crepe. One fabric doing both jobs would have given you either a cape that would not move or a dress that would not hold its shape.
What are the flowers at the shoulder?
Beaded floral brooches, one on each shoulder, set where the cape joins the dress. They are the detail that turns a seam into a feature, and they are what you see first from across a room.
Is it fitted all the way down?
No. It is fitted through the bodice and the waist, then flares from the hip. The hip and the leg are skimmed rather than held, so the skirt moves freely and the dress does not pull when you sit.
Is crepe comfortable for a long evening?
Yes. Crepe is fluid rather than stiff, and the dress is lined throughout in soft rayon so nothing touches your skin directly. The georgette cape adds almost no weight at all.

The model is 172 cm and wears a size XS: bust 90 cm, waist 72 cm, hips 104 cm, shoulder to hem 155 cm, cape 148 cm.

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
