A maxi gown in a foil finished cloth with a metallic effect, cut on an asymmetric line so the layers fall across the body rather than straight down. The pleats carry the movement, and the finish catches the light differently with every step.
The neckline is round and the sleeves finish above the elbow. A tie draws in the waist, so you set how close the shape sits. The asymmetry is in the drape, not in the hem, so the dress is full length all the way round and the layers simply cross as they fall.
It is a dress for a wedding, a gala dinner, a cocktail party or a formal evening, and it is the piece to reach for when you want to be noticed without wearing anything loud.
The fit is true to size. If you are between sizes, we recommend the larger.
The black and the silver are shown on a model of 175 cm wearing a size S. The royal blue and the off white are shown on a model of 172 cm wearing a size XS.
The size S measures 95 cm at the bust (37 1/2 inches), 75 cm at the waist (29 1/2 inches), 105 cm at the hips (41 1/4 inches) and 145 cm from shoulder to hem (57 inches), with a sleeve of 30 cm (11 3/4 inches). The size XS measures 92 cm at the bust (36 1/4 inches), 72 cm at the waist (28 1/4 inches), 102 cm at the hips (40 1/4 inches) and 144 cm from shoulder to hem (56 3/4 inches), with a sleeve of 29 cm (11 1/2 inches).
What is a metallic effect foil finish?
It is a finish applied to the surface of the cloth that catches light the way metal does, without any of the weight or stiffness. It does not flake and it does not feel hard. We call it a metallic effect rather than metallic because the fabric underneath is soft and moves like any other dress fabric.
How much do the sleeves cover?
At size S the sleeve measures 30 cm from the shoulder seam, which sits above the elbow. Your shoulder and upper arm are covered. If you want the elbow and forearm covered as well, look at our three quarter and long sleeved styles.
How does the asymmetric cut fall?

Delivery
Baruni use international couriers to deliver your orders. This typically takes 1 to 2 days from order in the UAE, and 3 to 5 days for other countries. We usually dispatch within 24 hours.
If you leave your email address at checkout, we will send you a tracking number as soon as your order leaves us, so you can follow its progress.
We also write to you before we ship, to check the size you have chosen is the right one for you. If you think it may not be, reply to that email with your measurements and we will confirm before your dress leaves the atelier.

Please note that duty charges now apply to shipments to the US, collected by the courier on delivery.
High courier fees mean we charge specific shipping rates for Libya, Israel, Iraq and certain other countries. If you are unsure whether yours is one of them, write to us before you order and we will confirm the rate.
Returns
You have 15 days from receiving your order to send a piece back to us. It must be unworn and unaltered, with its tags, labels and packaging.
Write to info@baruni.co with your order number and we will send you the return address. Return shipping is arranged and paid by you, and our original delivery cost is deducted from the refund.
Full price pieces are refunded to your original payment method.
Outlet pieces are not refunded. They are returned for store credit, valid for one year on anything on the site.
If we alter a piece at your request, or adjust it to your measurements before it is sent, it cannot be returned or exchanged. We will always tell you what we propose to change and we never alter anything without your confirmation first.
If a size is not right, message us before you send it back. We can often tell you which size to take instead.
